”Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone” is a red-blooded experience film, trickling with air, loaded with the grisly and the eminent, and shockingly unwavering to the novel. A great deal of things could have turned out badly, and none of them have: Chris Columbus’ film is a captivating exemplary that fulls equity to a story that was an overwhelming test.

The novel by J.K. Rowling was solid and clear, and the peril was that the motion picture would make things excessively adorable and cuddly. It doesn’t. Like an “Indiana Jones” for more youthful viewers, it tells a fearsome story of extraordinary enterprise, where bright and unpredictable characters exchange with frightening stuff like a three-headed pooch, a pit of rings known as the Devil’s Snare and a crafty undying who drinks unicorn blood.
