The narrative “Into the Inferno” wholes itself up in its opening minutes. A floating helicopter shot takes us over the Vanatu Archipelago in the Galapagos, over rushes of ground that take after dried dark pudding, until we see a gathering of minor figures on the peak of a mountain. The camera gravitates toward to them, in the long run peering over their shoulders to uncover what they’re taking a gander at: a tremendous pool of magma. At that point comes a progression of long shots of the magma. The film is spellbound by it.
So are the greater part of the general population profiled in this motion picture, which is coordinated by Werner Herzog however credited as “A film by Werner Herzog and Clive Oppenheimer.”
